Australian Journal of Pharmacy : April 2005
events events Unravelling the myths at ConPharm’05 I S it a statement of medical fact, or just a myth perpetuated over time or by popular misconception? Nowhere more so than in the medical field is it important to be able to identify what are the myths and what is the real- ity, and where and why an evidence- based approach rules. The Australian Association of Consul- tant Pharmacy (AACP) inaugural consul- tant pharmacy clinical seminar, Con- Pharm’05, is designed to provide answers to such questions. To be held from 3–5 June at the Hyatt Regency, Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, the two-day seminar has evolved from the highly successful AACP Accredited Pharmacists Forums held each year in conjunction with the PAC and APP conferences. ConPharm’05 will have a strong evi- dence-based element and include a mix- ture of short clinical presentations, inter- active small group sessions, panel discussions and networking social func- tions. Leading evidence-based medicine guru, Professor Chris Del Mar, Professor of Medicine from Bond University, heads an impressive gathering of presenters. Interprofessional relationships and the political environment in which consultant pharmacists work will also be on the agenda, with representatives from the Australian Divisions of General Practice and the Department of Health and Age- ing also participating in the seminar and available to answer those hard questions you always wanted to ask them. While the program has been especially designed for accredited consultant phar- macists, those aspiring to accreditation and pharmacists looking for high quality CPE are also encouraged to attend. Registration details and other informa- tion on ConPharm ’05 can be found at the AACP website (www.aacp.com.au ) by clicking the ConPharm’05 logo. ¦ 2005 CONFERENCES Australian College of Pharmacy Practice and Management 20–24 April 2005 Hamilton Island, Queensland Contact: Network Events Management Tel: 1300 558 790 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org PSA Refresher Course 2005 27 April–8 May 2005 Munich, Prague 25–29 April Pre-conference, Dubai 7–14 May Post-conference, Danube Cruise Contact: Kathryn Munro Tel: (02) 9431 1110 Email: email@example.com ConPharm’05 AACP Inaugural Consultant Pharmacy Clinical Seminar 3–5 June 2005 Sanctuary Cove, Queensland Contact: SANE Event Management (02)9553 4820 Website: www.aacp.com.au 2005 Good Health & Beauty Show 17–19 June 2005 Darling Harbour, Sydney Contact: Roslyn Irons Guild (NSW) Tel: (02) 9966 8377 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Community Pharmacy Southern Convention and Exhibition 15–17 July 2005 Melbourne Contact: Nadine Hutchins, Events Manager, Guild (VIC) Tel: (03) 9810 9999 Email: email@example.com Website: www.pharmacyevents.com.au Western Australia Pharmacy Fair 23–25 July 2005 Perth, Western Australia Contact: Eileen McDonald, Events Coordinator Tel: (08) 9324 2355 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Tel: (02) 6281 6624 Email: email@example.com Pharmacy Women’s Congress 2005 19–21 August 2005 Hobart, Tasmania Contact: Leishman Associates Tel: (03) 6234 7844 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) 65th Congress 5–8 September 2005 Cairo, Egypt Contact: FIP Congresses and Conferences Tel: + 31 (0) 70-302 1982/1981 Email: email@example.com Website: www.fip.orgh PAC 2005 29–31 October 2005 Melbourne, Victoria Contact: Network Event Management Tel: (03) 9850 8921 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org 276 ?
