An old hand An old hand in treating arthritis pain When looking for alternative treatments for arthritis pain, there’s an old stand-by you already know and trust. Panamax is a reliable option for general pain, and that’s a relief for you and your patients. PBS information: This product is listed on the PBS as an analgesic and antipyretic drug. BEFORE PRESCRIBING, PLEASE REVIEW PRODUCT INFORMATION. Full Product Information is available on request from sanofi-aventis. Panamax (paracetamol 500 mg tablets). Indications: Pain and fever. Contraindications: Infants less than 1 month old and patients who are hypersensitive to paracetamol or to any other component of the Panamax formulations. Precautions: Hepatic or renal dysfunction. Drug interactions: Anticoagulants, metoclopramide, propantheline, antidepressants with anticholinergic properties, narcotic analgesics, choramphenicol, alcohol, anti-epileptic drugs, hepatic enzyme inducers. Adverse reactions: Rare: Dyspepsia, nausea, allergic and haemtaological changes. Dosage and administration: Adults – One to two tablets every four to six hours (maximum 8 tabs per day).
