Australian Journal of Pharmacy : October 2006
Free your mouth from cold sores Getting rid of cold sores is such a great feeling, your patients may get a little carried away. Now with Vectavir (1% penciclovir), you can give them relief sooner.1 Only Vectavir contains penciclovir – an anti-viral agent that penetrates infected cells to directly attack the cold sore virus. Plus, Vectavir actually has a shorter recommended treatment time than most aciclovir-based cold sore creams.2 So your patients will be back in action before you know it. Cut treatment time with Vectavir2 Available only in pharmacy. Always read the label. Use only as directed. See your healthcare professional if symptoms persist. References: 1. Raborn et al JADA 2002. 133 (March): 303-309. 2. Recommended treatment time for Vectavir is 4 days vs. 5 days recommended treatment time for most aciclovir creams.
