Australian Journal of Pharmacy : May 2008
retail heal+h Begin the path towards professional and commercial sustainability T he Australian Journal of Pharmacy has collaborated with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia to offer its members a new, free supplement—Retail Health Solutions—with their copies of the AJP. The first edition of Retail Health Solutions will be distributed with the AJP’s June 2008 edition. Retail Health Solutions is designed to better equip community pharmacies to take on the challenge of becoming more relevant to the health consumer and, as a consequence, improve business performance. It is based on the premise that improving retail management capabilities, combined with a stronger focus on offering customers health solutions (not just product), is a critical goal of many pharmacies seeking to become more profitable and build a more sustainable community pharmacy business model in the face of falling margins and increasing competition. Retail Health Solutions offer its readers— ideally pharmacy owners, managers and retail managers—the chance to improve their retail performance by delivering valuable information and practical instruction, drawing from experts within and outside of pharmacy. Each issuE of Retail HealtH SolutionS will conTain: • Pharmacy business news, reviews and updates. • Insights and instruction from experts in their fields. • At least one feature article each issue focusing on retail management best practice within a health category. • Profiles of pharmacies that achieve high performance in delivering health solutions within their retail environment. • Alerts on health issues, promotions and product campaigns, along with practical tips on how to leverage them for the benefit of the customer and the business. • Benchmarks on category performance enabling community pharmacy owners and managers to compare their retail performance against their peers. For more information about Retail Health Solutions, contact Matthew Eton on (02) 8117 9542 or email firstname.lastname@example.org The AJP and Retail Health Solutions are published by the Australian Pharmaceutical Publishing Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pharmacy Defence Limited. www.appco.com.au
